The word "reward" refers to something given in return for effort, achievement, or good behavior. It's more than just a gift; it implies that the recipient earned what they received. For example: "After months of training, she earned the reward of finishing the marathon," or "Honesty is its own reward."

Rewards can take many forms—tangible things like prizes, money, or gifts, but also intangible benefits such as praise, recognition, satisfaction, or a sense of accomplishment. A delicious meal after a long day could be considered a reward, just as much as a medal for winning a race.
