To disqualify someone or something means to officially declare them ineligible for something – be it a competition, a position, or even consideration altogether. It implies a formal process and often involves specific rules or criteria that have not been met.

Think of a horse race: if a horse tests positive for banned substances, it will be disqualified, meaning its finish won't count and it loses any prize money. But disqualification isn't limited to sports! A judge might disqualify a potential juror if they show bias.
