Attention is what we give when we truly see something—not just with our eyes, but with our minds. It's the act of focusing your mind on a particular thing, person, or idea. A child might demand her mother's attention by tugging at her sleeve, while a detective pays close attention to every detail in a crime scene. Attention can also be a form of respect; giving someone your full attention shows you value them and what they have to say. Sometimes, seeking attention isn't about genuine connection—it might be a way to feel important or acknowledged. Think of a brightly colored advertisement—its purpose is to grab your attention!

Attention is the mental faculty by which we consciously focus on a particular object, thought, or sensation.
