The word "unreflecting" describes thoughtlessness or impulsiveness: a lack of careful consideration before acting, speaking, or judging. It does not mean stupid. Instead, it points to a failure to pause and examine one's motives, the likely results of an action, or the feelings of other people.

At its core, the word is tied to the idea of reflection as serious thought or self-examination. To be reflective is to look at your own thoughts and behavior and learn from them. So if someone is unreflecting, they tend to move by instinct, habit, or immediate feeling instead of pausing to think things through.
