Description

Imagine your nose: the wall inside that divides it into two nostrils. That is a septum. But it is not only about noses. The word can mean any inner wall or partition that separates two spaces, especially in the body or in living things. You can find one in the nose, in the heart, and in some plants and fungi. A deviated septum is a common condition in which the wall inside the nose is off center, which can make breathing harder.
