To resurface means to come back to the top of something—literally, like an object rising to the surface of water, or figuratively, like a thought, feeling, or issue reappearing after being hidden or forgotten. Think of a sunken treasure slowly revealed by shifting sands—that's resurfacing in action!

Originally, it described the act of returning to the surface, often referring to submarines or divers. "The submarine resurfaced after hours underwater." However, its figurative uses are far more common in daily conversation.
