The word reprint refers to printing and publishing something again after it has already appeared before. It is more than just making a single extra copy. It usually means that a publisher, newspaper, magazine, or another source decides to issue the same work again because people still want it, need it, or find it important.

A classic example is a book going through multiple reprints. If a novel becomes very popular, the publisher may print more copies later. Those new print runs are reprints. However, reprint is not limited to books. Newspapers can reprint older articles, magazines can reprint popular pieces, and collections can include reprinted essays, stories, or images that first appeared somewhere else.

Sometimes, a reprint is not an exact duplicate of the original. A publisher may correct small errors, add a new foreword, or include a short note for modern readers. Even so, the main work remains the same. This helps separate a reprint from a fully new edition, which usually has bigger changes.
