The word "stripling" refers to a boy or young man who is still in the early stage of growing up. It usually suggests someone tallish or slender, not yet fully mature in body or experience. More than the plain phrase "young man," it carries the feeling of someone still on the threshold of adulthood, with a touch of weakness, innocence, or rawness.
