stomachache

A2
noun

Pronunciation

UK

  • /stˈʌməkˌeɪk/

US

  • /stˈʌməkˌeɪk/

Description

A stomachache is not always serious - sometimes it is just a short period of pain after eating too much pizza. But it can also be a sign that something is wrong. Think of it as your body sending you a message: "Hey, something does not feel right down here!" A little kid might get one from nerves before a birthday party, while an adult might get one from bad food. It is a common problem, and thankfully, most stomachaches pass with time or simple care.
