The word "slow" describes something moving or happening at a low speed, or taking a long time to complete. It is a relative term—what is slow for one person might be fast for another! For example: "The traffic was moving very slowly during rush hour," or "She spoke in a slow, deliberate manner."

"Slow" can describe physical movement, like a slow runner or a river moving gently. But it also applies to processes and events. A "slow economy" means economic growth is happening at a low rate. A "slow burn" in a story refers to a plot that unfolds gradually, building tension over time.

We even use "slow" to describe personality traits—a "slow learner" might need more time to grasp new concepts.
