Sightseeing is the activity of visiting famous, beautiful, or interesting places when you travel. It often includes going to museums, landmarks, old buildings, parks, or busy local streets. Think of a traveler spending the day in Rome, moving from one well-known place to another, taking photos, learning a little history, and enjoying the feel of the city. It is usually done for pleasure, curiosity, or both.

Sightseeing is the activity of going around a place to see the sights that make it special. People usually do it while on vacation or during a visit to a new city, town, or country. It can involve famous landmarks, historic buildings, museums, galleries, gardens, viewpoints, or even ordinary streets that show the local character of a place. The idea is not simply to be there, but to spend time looking, exploring, and enjoying what can be seen.

In everyday English, the word suggests pleasure, movement, and the simple experience of seeing a place with fresh eyes.
