The fashion reflected that energy: men wore slicked-back hair, jeans, and leather jackets, while women often wore full skirts, saddle shoes, and bright lipstick. Although its first peak was in the 1950s, it never fully disappeared. It came back in later decades, influenced many musicians, and still inspires a subculture built around its music, fashion, and attitude.
