Description

A question is something you say or write when you want information, want to check what someone knows, or are not sure about something. It is a basic part of learning, curiosity, and everyday talk. You might ask one in class, raise one in a meeting, or face a hard one in an interview.

The word can also mean a matter that needs thought or discussion, as in "That is an open question." It can also be used as a verb. If you question something, you doubt it or examine it closely. Detectives question people to find the truth, and scientists question results when something does not seem right.
