Most people first meet "quack" as the sound a duck makes. You can use it as a noun for the sound itself or as a verb: "The duck gave a loud quack" or "The ducks were quacking by the pond." But the word also has a very different and much harsher meaning. A quack can be a person who pretends to be a doctor or claims to have medical skill without real knowledge, often while selling false treatments.
