Description

A psalmist is a person who writes, sings, or performs psalms, especially the sacred songs and prayers linked to the Bible. Think of King David, often shown with a harp and linked to many of the Psalms. He is the classic example. The word is still mainly religious, and it usually suggests someone who gives voice to worship, praise, sorrow, or prayer through song or verse.
