Description

Imagine the inside of your cells as a busy city. Inside that city are highways: long, hollow structures called microtubules. "Microtubular" simply means relating to these tiny but very important parts. They help give the cell support and also act like tracks for moving materials from one place to another. You would not normally use this word for everyday objects, but you will see it in biology, especially when people talk about cell structure and function.
