The word "mental" broadly refers to anything related to the mind, encompassing thoughts, emotions, perceptions, memory, and overall psychological functioning. It's a term used across many fields, from psychology and medicine to everyday conversation.

In the context of health, "mental health" describes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. This includes how we think, feel, and behave. Someone might be struggling with mental illness, such as depression or anxiety, which are conditions that affect their thinking, feeling, or mood.
