"Hash" is a surprisingly versatile word with roots stretching from the kitchen to the digital world. Originally, it referred to a dish made by chopping up leftovers—meat, vegetables, and potatoes—and frying them together. Even the "hash" symbol (#), famous for its use in social media hashtags, is part of this family, acting as a label to categorize and organize topics.
