Description

Imagine your kidneys as tiny filtering systems working all day to clean your blood. The glomerulus is one of the main parts of that system: a small knot of blood vessels where filtering begins. So, anything glomerular is connected to these tiny filters or to the filtering that happens there. Doctors and scientists use this word when talking about kidney health, diseases that damage these filters, or tests that show how well the kidneys are working. You might hear the phrase "glomerular filtration rate," which means how well your kidneys are cleaning your blood.
