The word "argue" carries more nuance than simply "fighting." At its core, to argue means to offer reasons for or against a particular idea, action, or belief. It's about presenting a case and attempting to persuade others to see your point of view.

You can argue with someone—this is the most common understanding, often implying disagreement and potentially conflict. Think of two friends arguing over which movie to watch.
