The word "tody" refers to any bird belonging to the genus Todus—a group of small, colorful birds native only to the islands of the Greater Antilles, including Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. These little dynamos are truly captivating creatures, often described as the "jewels of the forest." They typically measure only about 4 inches in length, making them some of the smallest birds in their tropical habitat.
