An outcrop refers to a visible exposure of bedrock or geological formations at the Earth's surface. It's essentially where underground layers of rock are revealed due to erosion, tectonic activity, or human intervention (like quarrying). Think of it as nature peeling back the curtain on what lies beneath our feet.

Outcrops aren't limited to dramatic cliffs or towering peaks. They can be small patches of exposed rock in a field, a rocky shoreline, or even a low ridge poking through the soil.
