Microgravity is not truly zero gravity. It is a condition where gravity is still acting, but people and objects feel almost weightless. That is what astronauts experience while orbiting Earth. It happens because they are in continuous freefall: they are falling toward Earth while moving forward so fast that they keep missing the ground. This creates the feeling of weightlessness even though Earth's gravity is still there. On Earth, this condition can be created for short periods during parabolic flights or drop experiments. Scientists study how things behave in it to learn how plants grow, how liquids move, and how the human body changes in space.
Microgravity refers to a condition in which people and objects seem almost weightless because they are in freefall. It does not mean that gravity has disappeared. Parabolic flights use specially modified airplanes that fly in steep arcs to produce brief bursts of weightlessness. These moments are useful for testing equipment, training astronauts, and studying how things behave when normal support from gravity is greatly reduced. Microgravity remains a key part of space science and human space exploration.
