"Inside" describes the space within something, like a house, a box, or a car. It often points to a place that is covered, protected, or hidden from the outside. You might put your keys inside a bag or feel safe inside during a storm. The word is not only about physical space. It can also talk about private feelings, as in "Deep down inside, she was calm," or shared secrets, as in "an inside joke" that only a few people understand.

The word "inside" usually refers to the inner part of something, the area that is surrounded by an outer edge or surface. Think of a house: the rooms inside are where people eat, sleep, and relax.
