The term "infringer" refers to a person, group, or company that violates someone else's legal rights, usually by using protected material without permission. It is a formal word, and it appears most often in law and business, especially in cases about copyrights, trademarks, and patents.

Picture an artist who creates a painting, a musician who records a song, or a company that invents a new product. If another person copies the painting, uploads the song without permission, or starts using the invention without a license, that person or company can be called an infringer. The same idea applies to trademarks: if a business uses a name, logo, or packaging that is too close to another brand and confuses buyers, it may be treated as an infringer.
