  • /frˈʌntmən/

Description

Imagine a band: that singer or performer who talks to the crowd, gives interviews, and seems to stand for the whole group. That's a frontman. But the term is not only for music. A "frontman" can also be the main public representative of a group, company, or cause. He is the person people notice first, even if someone else makes the real decisions behind the scenes. In some cases, a "frontman" is used to hide who is really in control, acting as a figurehead for other people.
