Description

An earpiece is a small speaker or listening device worn in or close to your ear. Think of it as a tiny personal sound system. Unlike headphones, which usually cover the ears, this kind of device often fits inside the ear or rests just outside it. It is useful for private listening. A secret agent in a movie might use one to hear instructions, and many people use one for phone calls or audio on the go. In older use, the word could also mean the part of a telephone that you hold to your ear.
