analyzer

C2
noun

Pronunciation

UK

  • /ˈænəlˌaɪsə/

US

  • /ˈænəˌlaɪzər/

Description

An analyzer isn't just someone who thinks a lot—it's a person (or a device) dedicated to taking things apart conceptually, examining all the pieces, and understanding how they fit together. Think of a detective carefully studying clues at a crime scene; that detective is acting as an analyzer. But analyzers aren't limited to people: a blood analyzer in a doctor's office tests your blood sample to reveal important health information. You might be an analyzer if you love puzzles, enjoy debating, or always ask "why?"
